We’ve done it ourselves.

Hi! Steph and Dom here and yes, we’ve made a gin and we’re very proud of it. “Do we really need another gin?” I hear you ask. Well yes we do or we think we do. There are loads of them out there and some are lovely and some are not so! You can read why we did it later on, but the thing we’re most thrilled about is the flavour. We are not aware of any other gin that boasts of tasting of oak or smoke! We may be proved wrong but we’ve done it nonetheless. This is not a floral, fruity or wildly herby gin and nor is it reminiscent of wandering through Granny’s garden. This is a gin designed to enthral and to be drunk neat, with water or in a martini. Yes you can mix it with whatever you like, and it does go well with pretty much anything but if you do, please don’t drown it, just show it the mixer!

Crafted from the finest botanicals available to mankind (obviously we wouldn’t go cheap on any of it!) and a subtle blend of oak, smoke and marmalade (how did we do the smoke bit? Top secret but it wasn’t easy!). It’s made for us and by us. It’s our recipe and we enjoy the finer things in life, who doesn’t? We’re prepared to push the boundaries whenever we can and here we have done just that. With every sip you’ll get a slightly different nuance. A hint of this and a hint of that. It’s not an “in your face” flavouring but a subtle journey through them and it may take a moment for them to speak. Don’t expect an argument when a soft gentle conversation is in the glass. To be enjoyed, neat, on the rocks, or with a soft mixer right down to just water. Welcome to the gin that dares to be different.

Two Gin Lovers, Countless Tastings, One Perfect Bottle

We’ve been enjoying gin for something in excess of 40 years and this journey has taken over two of them. Boy have we been doing some tasting, tasting and more tasting and loved every minute of it. The bottle has changed shape and size too many times to count and the label, whilst pretty simple has caused many a late night, large gin and furious arguments. Having finally arrived at a destination without previously knowing where that was, every aspect of this gin is a testament to this journey, carefully distilled and thoughtfully refined. This is the gin we’ve dreamt of for many years – and now, it’s yours to enjoy too.

Reviving the Spirit of the 17th Century

The 17th Century wasn’t very nice. You couldn’t drink the water so your normal drinking options were either a beer or this new product we now know as Gin; not as expensive then as wine or brandy etc.. We doubt it mixed well with beer and as tonic water had not yet been invented, really the only option was to drink it neat, and they did and they were hosing it down, mostly straight from the bottle, which we do not recommend. Drawing from the aftermath of the Great Fire of London, our first edition gin “1666 Aftermath” is a tribute to that chaotic era (all that smoke and burnt oak!) bringing together the best of historic and modern distilling in one bold, unforgettable bottle.
